Shining Through Studio Version 2007 - Performed by Mad Dog Friedman and Felonius Smith

from Shining Through the Years by Mad Dog Friedman

about

Recorded by Mad Dog Friedman and Felonius Smith in May of 2007 at Mad Dog's basement studio in Lafayette, Colorado. This song was first written in 1977. I it wrote for my girlfriend then, hoping it would convince her to stay with me. It did not work, at least not right away. I recently asked Jeff "Felonius" Smith to record it with me since my girl friend and I have recently reunited after 30 years apart, and we are now happily married. Felonius did an amazing job on guitar. He brilliantly adapted the original arrangement by King Comfort (with Jonathon Fuller on guitar) to his own unique style. I am obsessed with this song and the feelings it brought back up inside me. I think a bit of this obsession comes through in my harp work and singing. I hope you enjoy it, and it moves you back to someone you have always loved as well. ~Mad Dog
