No More 04:32
A shadow crosses her eyes as she goes inside A tangle of snakes and hissing a fang full of lies The girl I loved, suddenly she hides, Our love shed, a skin left behind, How dare I ask Can we slay the dragons of our past? Nothin' hurts like a love that is no more Nothin' heals until you let it go Need to move on let it fall and fade away, The night is stark with illusion, cold shades break my day, Why the ones we love always make us pay and pay I guess some end up that way, Why cry the sky blue, Dig your own grave and on hop in, too? Nothin' hurts like a love that is no more Nothin' heals until you let it go A shadow cross her eye as she go inside A tangle of snakes and hissing a fang full of lies The girl I loved, somewhere she hides, Our love shed, a skin left behind, Why cry the sky red, Put a smile on the dead, leave truth unsaid?

She loves me smooth as moonlight With the heat of day She loves me like she means it I mean all the way My baby’s got me singing All about her loving Kissing and a hugging Oh that girl of mine Her touch is silky fine now Makes me smile so wide I am burning like a coal Smoldering inside My baby’s got me steaming Boiling over with my loving Kissing and a hugging Oh that girl of mine My hot pepper baby Hottest stuff in town Drink a shot of hot sauce Just to cool me down My baby’s got me dancing Twirling and a grooving Kissing and a hugging On that girl of mine A lonely wind’s a blowing My hunger keeps a growing It’s time to get a going Back home again My baby’s keeps me knowing Where to find good loving Kissing and a hugging Oh that girl of mine Going get sweet loving Kissing and a hugging Oh that girl of mine Feeling so fine Oh that girl of mine Love that girl of mine

about

This second album from the Colorado harmonica string band is a double album with the perfect blend of country blues, folk grass, singer songwriter soul, jazz and jam. With a fun, down-home feel, both relaxed and energetic, this music represents a maturing and an expansion of Mad Dog Blues’ trademark Colorado country blues sound.

Although this disc is still the acoustic string band, the sound is enhanced adding in a 1956 Hammond B3 organ or a Native American flute to a few songs. This disc stretches the definition of modern acoustic blues by creating fusions with other genres like reggae and jazz. Often odd meters and harmonic structures are used with emotional impact.
